ADD/ADHD
What is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition in which a person has trouble paying attention and focusing on tasks, tends to act without thinking, and has trouble sitting still. It may begin in early childhood and can continue into adulthood. Without treatment, ADHD can cause problems at home, school, work, and with relationships.
What is the difference between ADD & ADHD?
When the hyperactivity is not consistently present we use the term ADD. Because of the confusion between the two, much of the time ADD and ADHD are used interchangeably. An easier way to refer to it, which we do in our clinic, is to call it ADD and then specify with or without hyperactivity. But, for the sake of consistency here we will refer to it here after as ADHD.
