Ann-Marie Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University. She majored in Psychology and minored in Religion and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In addition, she holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been counseling for more than 8 years.
Ann-Marie Bowen has extensive experience working with numerous issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, adjustment issues, addictions, parenting issues, grief, relationship issues, and eating disorders. Special areas of interest include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma and sexual abuse recovery, and family of origin issues. Ann-Marie works with adults and adolescents, and does individual, couples, and family therapy. Ann-Marie is an in-network provider with many major insurance companies including United Healthcare, Aetna, Magellan, and Humana.
Prior to going into private practice, Ann-Marie worked at Meier Clinics in Richardson, Texas. She worked in the Day Program and Outpatient Clinic. Ann-Marie has led workshops for the community on depression, anxiety, and anger management. She has been a guest speaker on KWRD's Consumer Magazine radio show with Dr. Paul Meier. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Ann-Marie lives in Plano, Texas with her husband of ten years and two children. She is actively involved in her church where she co-leads a small group and works in the children's ministry. In her free time, she enjoys running, movies, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
